Luxury Shopping Experience – Perfume Direct

Luxury Shopping Experience – Perfume Direct

The concept of perfume really blows my mind. Each and every person has their own preferences towards smells that we want to put on our body. Maybe I’m overthinking it (likely) but what influences our decision to choose a scent? I love the smell of strawberries but I don’t think I would want a strawberry scented perfume. Marina of Scentbird talks about the physcology of perfume in her blog post here , she states there are four main factors for choosing a perfume and they are scent, emotional reaction to the scent, image and ingredients. All of which, looking back, have been big deciding factors for me when choosing a perfume. However, I would say two things that aren’t on this list which are very important to me are price and experience.

Online shopping has a special place in my heart, there’s something magical about placing an order and waiting for it to arrive. I love seeing the postman come up the path with packages and then acting as if it’s a gift, I pretend I don’t know what it is so I’m more excited (is this normal? I can’t be the only one?). So if you ask me, I would take this experience over strolling through department stores where you pay more for your product to fund the people that stand spritzing you as you walk by!

Whenever I purchase anything I want it to be an exciting experience. I understand that sometimes you have to pay more to get a luxurious shopping experience, but not always. Perfume Direct is an online perfume directory that sells brands like thierry mugler, jimmy choo, celebrity fragrances and 100’s more. From putting the product in your basket to the postman shimmying up your path it’s an easy and enjoyable process. A process which does not come with an additional price tag, the first thing you will notice when you visit their website is the price! I could not believe it. For each perfume they show you the RRP of each fragrance and then their own price, the majority of which over £20 worth of savings for each bottle. It was about time I spruced up my perfume collection and tried something new so I have reviewed two new perfumes following my experience with Perfume Direct.

This beautifully packaged perfume is the perfect gift. Alien Extradinare by Thierry Mugler is absolutely delicious and comes in a 60ml refliable bottle along with a baby 6ml bottle. I had only ever smelt the ‘original’ alien before getting this one but I definitely prefer this scent. As I am no perfume expert I have taken some of the description of their website in order to give you a better idea of the scent.

Thierry Mugler Alien eau Extraordinaire Women's Perfume Spray (60ml Refillable) & 6ml Spray

I first smelled this perfume when a family member had it on, it is one of those perfumes that you can smell when someone just walks by. Gucci Guilty comes in a beautiful gold bottle with the signature Gucci interlocking G’s. I’ve had a lot of compliments since wearing this fragrance which is always a bonus! And you only need a couple of sprays to get the long lasting effect.

Top notes: Pink Pepper, Mandarin

Middle notes: Lilac, Violet, Heliotropine

Base notes: Patchouli, Amber

Scent: Floriental

Scent Intensity: Moderate

Scent Longevity: Long-Lasting

Cost: £43.99 RRP £74.00 (that’s a saving of £30!)

Gucci Guilty Intense Eau de Parfum Women's Perfume Spray (50ml)

I would recommend trying both of these perfumes, they are absolutely beautiful both the scents and the packaging.  Perfume Direct are highly rated by other customers not only for their prices but their customer service too. If anyone ever tells you that you have to pay extra for luxury, tell them they don’t know what they’re talking about.
